People of England: Pigeon Man

This is perhaps the most strange street 'performance' I've ever seen. A man clad in a gray coat and large hat with a suit and tie beneath, with pigeons crowding about him, clambering for the seeds in his hands. He seemed more than happy to have what are usually considered disgusting creatures flocking to him like he was Santa Claus. Perhaps one of the most ironic things is the other typical street performers in the square with him: live statues, a woman singing arias, a man juggling bowling pins. Spotted: right outside the Roman Baths. I've seen him there both times we visited Bath - I wonder if he will be there when I go back for the Christmas Markets?

As I watched, one brave boy volunteered to become like the pigeon man, with birds perched all over him. He was a bit skeptical at first, but grinning from ear to ear by the end. He sure was braver than I ever would be...
