Living in Cheltenham, we discovered that we were right in the center of one of the best racing cities. The Cheltenham Racecourse is frequently graced by royalty and celebrities alike. It stretches out over the countryside on the outskirts of the city and makes for a fun day out for anyone. Victoria and I decided it was a must for us to go to at least one race day. The experience was great - even though the weather did not match. It was thrilling to watch as the crowd went wild cheering for their favorite jockey and horse to spring across the finish line. I have been to sports games with a less animated crowd!
I also appreciated the tweed jackets and smart dress worn to the races - this is definitely a culture I could join. Here are some highlight pictures from the day:
